Glossary

Photography terms:
Gamut- Range
Depth of field- The difference between the nearest and furthest options which creates a focal point on the part of the image which is focused opposed to blurred.

Camera parts:

Aperture- The opening hole in the camera that adjusts to let different levels of light in.
Shutter- The part of the camera which lets light in.
Shutter speed- The speed at which the camera opens and closes to allow the amount of light which is let in by the shutter.
ISO (International Standards Organisation)- Measure of sensitivity.




Print terms:
PPI- Pixels Per Inc.  Optimum pixels per inch is 72 for viewing on website.  Optimum pixels per inch is 300 for print.



DPI- Dots per inch.

Edit terms:
White balance-
Colour temperature-  Colours such as white can have different warmths the colder the colour the bluer the tone of the image and the warmer the image the more red the image.

  1. good start but you need to expand on the glossary of terms, e.g. point of focus, vignette, etc.. please take notes during lessons and add unfamiliar words..
