Composite images- Work diary

Evaluation
I did not enjoy the unit of composite images I do not particularly enjoy this area of photography and would rather explore it in my own time to create fun images for comedy opposed to more seriously edited pieces to be examined.

Favourite image

This is my favourite image as I enjoy the simplicity of it.  The image is formed of two parts, the sky which is made from the backing of a picture which I took of Nelson's column and a picture of a fellow student sitting in a toy plan from the colour unit of the project.

Least favourite image

Whilst I do not particularly dislike this image I feel that the chicken is poorly blended into the road meaning that the two image elements to do fit together well.  To improve this I could have used the burn tool to create a shadow around the base of the chicken.

Progression
If I were to revisit this topic I would explore the more comical side of the genre opposed to the more serious side as this is the area which i enjoy.

Composite- Image bank

This image appeals to me because of subnormal appearance and surreal atmosphere.  I like the way that the colours contrast interestingly particularly the blue and orange of the sea and clouds.

I like the way that additional arms have been added to the girl in order to give her a more mystical appearance.  I feel that the use of blue in both her dress and the sea brings the image together nicely and the way that her hidden face creates a sense of mystery.

I like the bold purple coloration in this image particularly the tonal contrast between the lightest lit purple tones and the purple shadows.  I also like the surreal use of the giant bottle of fuel.

The use of size manipulation in this image appeals to me because it changes the way in which human's intersect with everyday objects such as a piano.  The neutral tone's of the image give the image a sense of calm which is supported by the fact that the images subject is calmly gazing into the distance.

This image appeals to me because of the way that it shows an everyday task such as shaving being tacked in such a surreal way.  The muted tones of the image as well as it's shadowing take away any sort of excitement from the image as well as any sense of the extraordinary in regards to the surreal actions of the image.

Composite- Definition post

Dictionary definition- the combining of visual elements from separate sources into single images, often to create the illusion that all those elements are parts of the same scene.
Personal definition- The manipulation of an image to merge it with another.

Straight images- Composite

This image was edited by adding a chicken to a road and was designed to be a satirical piece related to the famous joke "Why did the chicken cross the road?".  If I were to recreate a similar piece I would focus more on removing the stark highlights on the chicken this could be done in either photoshop or by creating a more suitable lighting set up which would account for the gloominess of the day when the picture was shot.

I like the simplicity of the below image and feel that is more effective than the image above. I like the way in which the plane carries creates a comic aspect to this piece as I do not enjoy creating the more serious type of composite imagery.

Practice photo manipulation

This image has been manipulated to create a comical scene parodying the popular 90's kids TV show come outside.
