This technique interests me as it creates a relatively surreal appearance in images.  It could also be implemented to create a more sinister image.

Screen shot process 

Select "Layer" and scroll to new adjustment layer and select curves.

Rename layer.

Adjust curves to alter image appearance.

Continue until satisfied.

I find this process helpful as it enables me to focus areas of my image and increases their sharpness and quality.

Rename image background.

Select "filter" and then select "sharpen" follower by "unsharp mask".

Alter levels until you are satisfied with the effect of the image.

I enjoy this editing process as it enables me to experiment through the use of tone in a quick and efficient way.

Select the curves tool from the right hand side menu.

Alter the curved line until you are happy with the images appearance.

This editing process would be useful is you needed to add shadows to an image.

Select the burn tool from the left hand side menu and colour the desired area until is begins to darken.

Repeat until satisfied.

This editing style appeals to me as it enables me to draw the viewers eye to certain areas of the image which makes the composition appear more interesting.

Select the "lasso tool" 

Adjust the hue and saturation in your desired area or invert your area and adjust.

Adjust the brightness and contrast in your desired area until satisfied.
