Landscape- definition post

Dictionary definition- Landscape photography shows spaces within the world, sometimes vast and unending, but other times microscopic. Landscape photographs typically capture the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features or disturbances of landscapes.
Personal definition- Landscape photography is any image that focuses on something which is not human or an animal.  A landscape image should also not be focused on one small object such as a flower but should encompass a large area or object e:g a park or mountain.

Scenic- providing or relating to views of impressive or beautiful natural scenery.


Industrial- relating to or characterized by industry.



Brutalism- an architectural style that emerged in the 1950s featuring monumental buildings, usually made of unornamented concrete, whose design was meant to project an air of strength and solidity.


Surrealism- a cultural movement that began in the early 1920s, and is best known for its visual artworks and writings. The aim was to "resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality".
